World Book Day- Thursday 6 March
We are looking forward to having a cosy day in our pyjamas on Thursday to celebrate World Book Day. The theme for World Book Day 2025 is "Read Your Way", to encourage everyone to make reading fun and to give children a choice of books to enjoy. A letter was sent out earlier this week with the details about the day and what to bring. If you missed it click here for the letter.
Alleyway Situation and School Council
We are aware that the flooding down the alley way between Butts Meadow and Prince Edward Street has been an ongoing problem. I took the School Council to have a look and we discussed how it was impacting the children and possible solutions. This included being fed up with wet shoes and socks, having to be carried across and the crates being used as stepping stones being dangerous. Their solution was better drainage or raising up the path, which they noticed had dipped where the water is pooling.
We then wrote a letter which one of our parents kindly sent on to a variety of council members (Dacorum and HCC). We are looking forward to a reply shortly.
Collective Worship
Over the coming weeks we will be focusing on the stories from the Bible which lead up to Easter. During Worship this week, we looked at the theme of being tempted. Children had a game of Tug of War to show how you are pulled between thoughts of doing the right or wrong thing. Lots of the examples of when the children were tempted were about food and sweets. They all told me they eventually made the right decision and did not take the extra biscuit or sweet.
