Prayer Bears
It has been three weeks since we launched our Prayer Bears and the children have loved sharing their prayers and stories of showing the different school values. During our class worship the person who has had the bear shows their entry to the class. They have gone down really well and we can't wait to read and look at all the different entries for all the classes.
Year 1 Class Assembly
Our Year 1 class had their class assembly this week where they shared with everyone, all the things they had learnt. This included writing their own nonsense poems, different maths skills, being historians using primary and secondary sources and making moving pictures with slides and split pins. It was a brilliant performance and everyone did a wonderful job speaking to the audience.
Kindness Workshop
The children had a visit from 52 Lives School of Kindness. The workshop aims to spread kindness and empower children by helping them to realise that the little choices they make every day have the power to change people’s lives, and improve their own physical and mental health at the same time. The workshops helped the children to learn about empathy and tolerance and improve self-awareness. By the end of the sessions the children:
– Realised the power of their actions.
– Understood the link between kindness and physical & mental wellbeing.
– Had a basic understanding of the science of kindness.
– Felt empowered to create the kind of world they want to live in.
VSA Playground Transformation Project
The VSA are transforming the disused ramp area between nursery and reception into an outdoor play & learning space for the whole school to enjoy! This is a mega project, costing £15,000! We have a grant of £12,500 but need your help to raise the remaining £2,500! All fundraising between now and Easter will go towards this project, but we have also set up a Just Giving page for direct donations! Link below to donate. Please share with any friends & family who may like to contribute!
Huge thanks as ever for your support - it is so appreciated by the whole school. ❤️
