Kindness Ambassadors Meeting
The Kindness Ambassadors had a meeting with Kindness Ambassadors from other schools where we shared our ideas. We talked about setting up Kindness Jars in every class and having a Kindness challenge for children to complete at break times. They also going to introduce a kindness quote of the week in our Tuesday worship to encourage acts of kindness across the school.
It is a great opportunity to find out what others are doing to promote kindness, taking away lots of ideas we can use at Victoria.
Sophie Coyle Author Visit
The children had an exciting afternoon on Thursday when Sophie Coyle visited to share her pick a story book. They got to choose what the character did next, while working out what happened to Kai’s stick. At the end, the children asked questions about what it is like being an author, how long it takes to write a book and where Sophie gets her ideas. Signed copies that were order are being sent home today.
Spiritual Ambassadors
Our Spiritual Ambassadors met to discuss Collective Worship and they talked about how they really enjoyed coming together as a school, exploring stories from the Bible and being part of the Collective Worship. They also mentioned the 'upbeat' music that is played at the start and end of worship which 'gets you going' for worship. They also started to think about what spirituality means to them and how it is about being in the moment, exploring the wonder around them and how they feel.
Liz Frost Storytelling Session- Monday 12 May
On Monday, we are being visited by the amazing storyteller Liz Frost. Her visit is part of the 10th Anniversary of the wonderful book, The LION INSIDE by Rachel Bright. The heart-warming tale about confidence, self-esteem and a shy little mouse who sets out on a journey to find his roar. In doing so, Liz will make the book come to life for the children. As part of the visit, Our Bookshop have arranged for the author to sign copies of the book. Click here if you would like to order, making sure you give the child’s name and class.
