We would like our pupils to take part in our first ever joint homework! Click on the button below to find out more.
Kindness Jars
The Kindness Ambassadors launched our Kindness Jars in worship this week. They want to encourage children to notice others being kind and then to let the teacher know so the kind act can be written on a post it note, with the name of the person who was being kind. As the jar gets filled, the acts of kindness will be shared with the class so the person who has been kind is celebrated.
We also have our kindness quote of the week:
“No act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted”
Congratulations to Mrs Keeling
We have some very exciting news that Mrs Keeling is expecting her second child later this year. I am sure you will want to join in with the school to congratulate her. We can’t wait to meet baby Keeling when they arrive. As a precaution can parents inform the school if your child has a case of chickenpox, measles or slapped cheek.
Walk to School Week
Next week is Walk to School Week where we are encouraging as many families as possible to walk, scoot or cycle to school. Every child will have been given a walk to school booklet, filled with lots of fun activities to complete as you walk to school. We will also be completing a travel survey next week to see if we can achieve 75% of children travelling to school by walking, park and stride (parking a distance from the school), cycling or scooting. This all counts towards our school travel plan to promote sustainable travel to school.
Naming Uniform
With the weather getting warmer, it is helpful if all jumpers, cardigans and hats are named so we can return them to their owner. We have a number of jumpers and cardigans that are not named or they have the previous child’s name where it hasn’t been changed to the correct child’s name.
Friends of Thomas Coram are looking for a co-chair and a secretary to jump onboard from October 2025. There is a treasurer and co-chair in place and there is lots of support from school with the pupil led events! If you think you might be interested in finding out more and seeing if this is something you can help with, please drop us an email (friends@thomascoram.herts.sch.uk) and we can have a no-strings chat before the school year finishes up!
