Summer Reading Challenge

We had a visit from Berkhamsted library launching the Summer Reading Challenge.  Your child should have come home with a bookmark which gives you a QR code for more information.  The children were very excited that they could take up to 30 books out in one visit and the range of books that were on offer. For further information click here.

The library is also doing Lego and different creative sessions at the library which are free and a great way to spend time in the summer. Click here to check for different events that are happening locally.

Leavers

We will sadly be saying goodbye to Mrs Lloyd (who has worked at Victoria for nearly 8 years), Mrs Foran and Mrs Slade at the end of this term.  However, they are going to still be working for the Federation at Thomas Coram, with Mrs Lloyd working in YR3 and Mrs Foran and Mrs Slade working as LSAs.  We are sad to see them go as they have been a valuable support for the children and the school.  We will miss them but look forward to seeing them when we are up at Thomas Coram.

RE Theme Day

During RE Day we explored who St Peter was and why he was important. The children made clay keys, drew an image of what Heaven would look like if looking through the keyhole and every child painted a stone for the Reflection Garden . The stone symbolised that we are all part of God’s kingdom and we are also part of the Victoria family.

We now know how important St Peter is to us and Jesus. Also he was given the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven and we wear these keys with pride. We decided to explore St Peter with our link to the local church and to understand why we have the cross keys on our uniform.

Prayer Bears

We have loved seeing what our Prayer Bears have been getting up to and we would like to share this with the wider community.  If you are happy for your entry to be displayed in school, website or social media, please could you send in a copy of the picture used. This is because Miss Walker has found taking a photo of the photo is not as clear as having the original.  Please send pictures to admin@victoria.herts.sch.uk titled Prayer Bears.
