Welcome back after a lovely summer of sun! Over the holidays there has been lots of reorganising, tidying up (3 skips were ordered) and preparing the school for the new term which has left the school looking all revitalised. The staff were very excited to discover the staffroom had been given a face lift, making it a more welcoming place to enjoy a cuppa or two.
Walking around the school, the classrooms are calm and a hive of activity. There have been a few tired faces (and that is just the staff) near the end of the week, however there were lots of positive comments from the children about their new classes and teachers.
I would like to give a warm welcome to our youngest children starting school with us. Watching the Nursery and Reception children coming in happily and independently showed how much the brilliant work the EYFS team did before the summer holidays to support a smooth transition.

I would like to invite Reception and YR1 parents to the phonic workshop on Tuesday 23 September at 9.15am. The workshop will talk about how we teach reading at Victoria and how you can support at home. As learning to read has changed so much since we were all at school, it is a really useful workshop to attend, especially when it comes to pronouncing the sounds correctly.

It has been great to have applications from the the YR2 children wanting to become Spiritual Ambassadors. As the applications were given before the holidays, they may have been forgotten about so we would like to extend the deadline to Monday. To download a copy of the application form click here.
On Tuesday, we are unable to provide hot food for pupils attending ASC. There will be a packed lunch tea offered instead. This will consist of cheese or ham sandwiches, cucumber, crisps and a digestive biscuit. All allergies will be catered for.
