Farewell to Miss Morley

Miss Morley who has been a much‑loved member of our team at Victoria will be leaving us on Friday 13 February. During her many years with us, Miss Morley has supported all the children with a warm, caring attitude and is much loved by everyone she has worked with.

We are incredibly sad to see Miss Morley go but she is off to new adventures at a school much nearer to home.

Please join us in wishing Miss Morley all the very best in her next exciting chapter.

Miss Jackson-Suddick Maternity Leave

We also are wishing Miss Jackson-Suddick all the best as she starts her maternity leave from today. We have asked her to keep the school updated with any baby news and will share this with you all.

Oracy Homework Conversation StartersOracy | St. Aidan's Primary School – A Church of England Academy

Oracy is part of our Castle Federation school improvement for both Victoria and Thomas Coram. We plan to make the art of teaching children through talk, about talk, and how to talk, an integral part of our curriculum. We will be teaching our children to be confident, articulate speakers and effective listeners; these two skills are fundamental to all we do now and in the children’s lives when they leave Victoria.

To help support us, both schools want to promote oracy at home. Each week in the newsletter, there will be an oracy conversation starter for you to discuss at home.  This week the oracy task is:

  • Where do you think these characters are? How do you know?
  • How is the black cat feeling?
  • Why do you think the white cat has their paw up?
  • How does the picture make you feel?

RE in Action

The children in Reception have been excellent at showing our values and while in Reception telling the story of Zacchaeus, one of the children gave a detailed account of why we needed to be kind to each other and it was really important as it made everyone happy.  They were pleased to find out that Zacchaeus learnt from his mistakes and they were going to do the same thing. They all understood that it is important to forgive and give people a chance to change.
