The Castle Way
Having returned from a relaxing half term, we launched The Castle Way for children to enhance our sense of belonging at Victoria. By having a clear set of guidelines to help make our school an even better place to be, the children are taking responsibility to remind each other what we should all be doing.
Reading Week 2-6 March
The National Year of Reading 2026 is a national reading celebration, inviting parents to:
- Make reading part of daily family and school life,
- Join school and library activities,
- Support children in finding reading they love,
- Help rebuild a reading culture across the UK.
As part of the National Year of Reading, the children will take part in a range of activities to deepen their love of reading, including World Book Day. We will be looking at their book choices and finding out what they like to read. This will help us get an idea of what books, comics and magazines the children would like to see in their classrooms and library. To find out further information click here and we also have included a link to a parent reading survey that we would really appreciate you completing.

Oracy Homework Conversation Starters
This week the oracy task to discuss is:
Which do you prefer Summer or Winter?
As part of our weekly worship, all the children (and staff) decorated a heart for our hall display. We used the quote from 1 Corinthians 16:14 'Do everything in love' which underpins our vision as the focus. Each heart represents each child and how together we want everyone at our school to feel welcomed and loved. The range of pictures, patterns and decorations on the hearts were brilliant and we can not wait to put them all together in one giant heart.
Easter Service
We can confirm the date and time for Victoria's Easter service at St Peter's will be Monday 23 March at 2.15pm. We would love to see you there to celebrate with us through songs, readings and prayers.
