Congratulations
Mrs Jones had a beautiful baby boy, Finley on 28 February, arriving early in the evening. Both Mrs Jones and Finley are doing really well. We can't wait to meet him and have cuddles.
Reading Week
We have had a brilliant week exploring books and reading for pleasure. It was so interesting to see what the children enjoy reading, especially the range of books, graphic novels and magazines. The children have been creating a wish list of books and we are hoping to start adding them to our class collections. We all had fun creating our reading rivers and I enjoyed sharing with the children my reading journey.

Thank you to all the families for taking time to create book boards for World Book Day. The children took great pride in sharing their books with each other and I will be adding pictures to Instagram shortly.

Writing in Early Years
This week we had a visit from our HFL English advisor who was so impressed with the book making in Nursery and Reception. He took lots of pictures of their work to share the good practice with the rest of the English team at Herts for Learning. We are very proud of the stories the children have been writing and how excited they are to write.

"Staff report increased confidence and strong pupil engagement with the routines and early-writing approaches. Examples of children’s bookmaking were seen in Reception, showing pupil choice and agency, as well as opportunities for children to share their writing from an Author’s Chair. Would you rather a magic wand or be a super hero?
We can confirm the date and time for Victoria's Easter service at St Peter's will be Monday 23 March at 2.15pm. We would love to see you there to celebrate with us through songs, readings and prayers.
Thank you to everyone who came along to cheer on the Comrades at the football last Saturday – it was fantastic to see such a great turnout from Victoria and TC! A big thank you as well to everyone who bought one of Charlie’s chocolate bars (and congratulations to our Golden Ticket winners!) and to those who stopped by the Makers Market yesterday after school. Your support is always hugely appreciated.

We’re busy planning some Easter activities, with more details coming next week. In the meantime, here are the next events coming up:
- Big Outdoor Clean Up – Saturday 14th March (10am–2pm)
-
Roll up your sleeves and help us spruce up some of the school’s outdoor spaces for the children to enjoy. Whether you can spare an hour or stay longer, bring the kids along and get stuck in – the more hands, the better! As a thank you, all volunteers will be rewarded with a well-earned hot dog. If you can help at all, please join the WhatsApp group using the link shared by your class rep.
-
Bingo Night – Friday 20th March
Eyes down for a fun-filled evening! It’s always a great night with plenty of laughs and chances to win. Tickets are available online now. -
Big Allotment Clean Up – Sunday 22nd March (10am–2pm)
Come along and help us get the school allotment ready for the growing season ahead. If you’d like to be involved with the allotment longer-term (not just for the big tidy up), please join the WhatsApp group using the link shared by your class rep.
