School Effectiveness Advisor Visit-Maths_(1).jpg)
Our School Effectiveness Advisor came to visit and did a learning walk around the school, focusing on maths. She fed back that there was strong teaching in every class, a consistent approach to embedding understanding of number and high quality interactions between adults and children. We enjoyed viewing the activities that included making 5 in Nursery, making 10 in Reception, measuring in YR1 and division in YR2. The children were using whole maths sentences to describe how they got their answers and showed their understanding in lots of different ways (using equipment and pictures).

Oracy Homework Conversation Starters
This week the oracy task to discuss is:
Would you rather have fingers for toes or toes for fingers?
Use these sentence starters to help:
- I would have... because....
- I think...
- In my opinion...
Encourage your child to turn and face you to talk and use a clear voice when talking. A fun way to help with turn taking when talking, is to have an object that you hold and you can only talk when you have the object in your hand.
