It has been wonderful to complete our first full week in school. All of our Nursery children have now completed their first full day and we are very much looking forward to see our whole school together next week.
Spirituality in Action
We have been talking to the children about what spirituality means to them. By focusing on the 'ows' and 'wow's in our lives. The wows are the moments in our lives that make us pause and think about how good that has made us feel and the ows are moments in our lives that are tricky or make us sad. We discussed together about how the wows help us when we are experiencing an ow. Each week the children are given time to reflect on these two areas and share thoughts on the class display. Spend some time this weekend to talk about your wows and share how they make you feel.
Spirituality is about the special feelings we have inside. It helps us learn about ourselves, other people, the world around us, and God. We grow when we notice amazing things, show kindness, and take time to wonder.
I would like to invite Reception and YR1 parents to the phonic workshop on Tuesday 23 September at 9.15am. The workshop will talk about how we teach reading at Victoria and how you can support at home. As learning to read has changed so much since we were all at school, it is a really useful workshop to attend, especially when it comes to pronouncing the sounds correctly.
As we start the new term, we are looking for YR2 children who would be interested in becoming a Spiritual Ambassador. If your child is interested, click here for details about the role and application form. Please can these be returned to their class teacher and after the deadline we will announce our new Spiritual Ambassadors.
Kindness Ambassadors (YR2 only)
Applications are also open for our new Kindness Ambassadors. Our first kindness mission is going to Hope Church Food Bank on Friday 25 September to see how they support our community. We will be finding out how we can help with them Harvest donations, later on this term. If your child would like to be a Kindness Ambassador, please complete and return this form to their class teacher by Monday 21 September.

Quiz Night
Welcome to the 2026–27 school year from the VSA! We’re excited to be back and we are already planning various events and fundraising fun. More to come soon, but first up: our Back to School Quiz Night on Friday 16 October at 7.30pm.
Expect a bar, snacks, and plenty of good‑natured rivalry. No need to come as a team, it’s all very laid‑back. Tickets are available online now.
It’s always a cracking evening, so come along, have a laugh, and help raise money for the school.
